Social Clubs

Village Hall

There are several local community social and support groups in the local area.

Coffee and More (Fridays)

Come along to Ightham Village Hall on the first Friday each month between 9am and 11am for a tea, coffee, hot chocolate and more. We have home made cakes baked fresh each week, toast and crumpets. There are other locally made goods on offer too - knitted cardigans, hats and scarves, pates and jams. Pheonix greeting cards, Usborne Books and Mimi B jewellery often visit. We welcome everybody and hope to see you there. We're in the Village Hall, every Friday, 9am to 11am.

Ightham District Gardener's Club

The Club meets once a month in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month. We invite a speaker, serve refreshments and hold a raffle. We welcome new members and visitors. Three Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Shows are held every year, open to the public, and an Annual Dinner. Do join us if you are at all interested in garden matters and wish to meet people socially with similar interests. Membership per annum - £10.00 per person. For further information please contact Phil Barlass (01732 883505) or Dee Samways (799 002129).

Derby & Joan Club

The Club meets every 3rd Tuesday (1st Tuesday in December) in Ightham Village Hall from 3-5pm excluding January, February and August. We have speakers at most meetings, bingo, a coach trip in May and a garden meeting in June. New members are welcome, please contact Gill Pitt on 01732 883731.

Ightham Women's Institute

If your image of the WI is "Jam & Jerusalem" then you are behind the times! At Ightham WI, in addition to the monthly meeting, we have regular gatherings to play whist, to learn and practise crafts and for a social lunch.. We also have a reading group, which meets monthly and then there is a regular darts competition, as well as many opportunities to learn about a wide range of subjects. IT coffee mornings are now enjoyed to bring us up to date with new technology. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month in the Village Hall - ring Marjorie Pointon (01732 884148) for full details.

Ightham & District Music Society (IDMS)

The society comprises a membership of approximately 20. Meetings are held monthly at the homes of those members who are kind enough to be able to accommodate such a number, or in the Parish Centre. Musical programmes covering themes chosen by members are invited - the musical spectrum is as wide as the presenter decides. Visitors are most welcome to come for a taster. Meetings are usually held on the third Tuesday of each month (except July) 2.00 to 4.30 pm. Further details from Tony Theaker (01732 884728)
