IGHTHAM PRIMARY SCHOOL
Ightham

provides an adventure for the mind and a care for every individual
and is very proud to have served the local community since 1850.
Children achieve high academic standards and are taught and supported
by an enthusiastic and caring staff team, Governing Body and Parent
School Association.
The school has been situated on the present site since 1850, and
as a one form entry, village primary is very proud to have the second
largest woodland primary school setting in Kent. The school has
strong community links with St Peter's Church, Village Associations,
Clubs and is an Ightham Mote Partnership school.

the last inspection in November 2009, Ofsted judged the school's
Early Year's provision to be 'Outstanding' and the School 'Good'
overall.

their report Ofsted fully endorsed,
'the hard work of 'TEAM Ightham' which ensures the happiness of
the children, their willingness to learn and their extremely good
behaviour.'
Ightham
Primary School provides a broad, creatively based curriculum which
is designed around the core subjects of Maths, Literacy and ICT.
The school has benefited from a great deal of investment in classrooms
and outdoor facilities. A purpose built information and communication
and technology suite, high ratio of computers, and Interactive whiteboards
in each classroom, ensure that Information and communication technology
forms an integral part of children's learning. The Early Years classroom
and outdoor learning areas are well equipped and expertly staffed
to provide for the needs of 4 and 5 year old children starting school.
Children in Key stages 1& 2 also benefit from using the variety
of outdoor facilities which help to promote quality learning experiences,
wellbeing and self esteem.
All
pupils are given the opportunity to develop their skills and talents
through a wide range of musical, physical and creative arts activities
and projects. Activity clubs both free and paid take place on the
school site at the beginning and ends of the school day. These are
led by school staff and in some instances qualified coaches and
specialist teachers. In addition the school offers childcare from
8am until 6pm on a daily basis at the IMPS school club. IMPS is
staffed and run by the school, on site.
The
school has established links with local nursery and childcare providers.
